Because your journey is YOUR journey.

ComfortCare’s HEART program is an abortion recovery and support group for women grieving past abortion decisions. No matter your age or beliefs, you can benefit from the HEART program. Grieving is a normal and healthy response to a major loss through death. It is a painful process but one that helps relieve our sorrow and grief.

At ComfortCare, we understand that this is a uniquely personal journey and one program does not necessarily fit each person’s needs. We believe healing from a past abortion decision is so important that we are offering a variety of ways that you can participate depending on your schedule and comfort level. It is our hope that you will find hope and healing through this program, no matter what format that ends up being.

She began volunteering with ComfortCare twenty years ago after participating in a post abortion Bible study herself. She feels blessed to share her story and walk the journey with other women as they find healing and freedom after participating in the HEART program.

Sandy Pless

Sandy grew up in and spent most of her adult life in Northern Virginia. She and her husband were married in 2011, and were blessed with the chance to move to the Shenandoah Valley in 2012. Sandy spent 30 years in her career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, and she currently drives a school bus for Augusta County.

Sandy and her husband currently attend Community Fellowship Church in Staunton. They are active volunteers in several ministries, including ComfortCare, which she became involved with in 2019 after participating in the HEART Bible study in 2017.
